Typifying Students’ Help-Seeking Behavior in an Intelligent Tutoring System for Mathematics

The use of tutoring systems has become normalized in secondary schools (grades 7-9) many parts the world. There have been studies analyzing students' behavior, their affective responses, or abuse system, but little done to discover other types behavior. This paper presents evidence that there are different help-seeking behavior which can be typified Mexican students interacting with Scooter intelligent system (ITS), was designed teach mathematics at secondary-level. implemented methodology consisted applying discovery algorithms and data mining typify terms behaviors. results contributions this work suggest gaming aforementioned ITS may not always useful. Future will analyze student groups who used software world correlate these typologies traits opinions about learning.
